Photography is a key part of selling your home, so it makes sense to prepare your home for it. One of the best pieces of advice we can give is to de-clutter. Potential buyers want to see the home they’re buying, not your personal belongings. When too many items are on display, it can often detract from the home itself, or in the worst case, leave a bad impression.
If you have items you no longer want or need, use this opportunity to donate them or throw them away. Clear away any knick knacks, and ensure kitchen counters and bathroom vanities are clear of everything.
Now’s the time to make your home sparkle. Spring clean, or if you don’t have time, spot clean any notable items that are visually dirty. A clean bathroom, free of shampoo bottles, razors and toothpaste, with a nice pair of matching fluffy towels will look far more inviting, then a dirty shower and vanity covered in make-up and hair products.
Open all your blinds and curtains, ensuring the glass is clean, and take note of what can be seen through the window. If overgrown weeds greet you, then remove them pronto.
Basically it’s all about making your home clean, free of clutter and as inviting as possible.
