It’s no surprise that moving house can often be a stressful experience, especially if you have young children or pets to look after at the same time. As prepared as you may well be, there is often something that is overlooked or missed.
Two things that will assist you when moving home are a “Move Day Kit” and an “Essentials Box”.
The purpose of the Move Day Kit is to have at hand all necessities for before, during and after the move. This includes things like medication, children’s toys, toiletries, baby needs, pet food and leashes etc. We recommend you start this box a week or two before your move date.
The Essentials Box is for the items you’ll need when you first arrive in your new home, such as remote controls, chargers and parts for disassembled furniture. It’ll make it a lot easier to find these items without having to unpack every box.
You might also find our “Moving House Checklist” worthwhile. With a suggested time frame of what to do when, it covers everything from updating your address, to removing batteries from battery operated items to minimise potential damage.
